Background information

I am nearing completion of my PhD in energy system modelling at the University of Victoria. MSc in Applied Mathematics, BSc in Physics and Mathematics. Previous intern at the European Space Agency. My research focuses on revamping capacity expansion models to reflect the evolving demands placed on them. This includes increasing the temporal and spatial granularity at minimal computational cost, and the inclusion of energy storage — both short and long duration. Some of my time is also spent using models to deliver insights on policy questions. Examples are: the retro-fitting of retired coal fired power plants; electric vehicle integration studies; integration of electrified residential space-heating and space-cooling; the effects of residential solar PV and storage applications.
