Background information
Aaron Pardy is a PhD student in the School of Resource and Environmental Management at Simon Fraser University (SFU). Studying under Dr. Mark Jaccard with the Energy and Materials Research Group, Aaron is striving to improve the behavioural realism of city-level energy-economy models. Aaron’s PhD builds on research performed in his Master of Resource Management, which he completed in 2018 at SFU. In this research, he used the CIMS energy-economy model to evaluate the influence of residential densification policy on energy use and emissions in Vancouver. Prior to his time at SFU, Aaron worked in environmental compliance at an electronic waste company and as a researcher for ENV, the largest environmental NGO in Vietnam. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph in 2013.
