Background information

Jason has experience with modelling decentralized energy systems and using integrated assessment models. His masters thesis focused on downscaling energy outputs in GCAM, a global IAM. His main research interest, now as an independent researcher, is in using exploratory modelling to support robust policy analysis.

In the day, his job deals with crafting, analyzing, implementing, and regulating various climate policies in Alberta. His previous experience includes working in a pulp mill on energy efficiency, the National Research Council, the UK Centre for Integrated Energy Research, and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. Jason is a graduate of the University of Alberta and the Delft University of Technology.
