Informations générales

Theo finished his applied physics bachelor specializing in control systems in 2009. After that he worked on optical cancer detection for two years in a startup company. His real passion was sustainability and proceeded to do a MASc in Sustainable Energy Technology. His master project was to construct and prototype a thermomagnetic generator. The same type of materials used in the construction of this device are also used for magnetic refrigeration. Magnetic refrigeration is a very promising technology that could reduce electricity costs of cooling by 20-30 %.

One of the groups working on this new technology is Andrew Rowe’s group. With the support of BASF-SE and IESVic, Theo is here to attain his PhD and help grow the understanding of this technology.
